OH my gosh! This takes me wa-a-ay back to the mid 60's when I'd take our Collie/Samoya(sp?) mix cross country skiing. He too, would spend a long time after chewing the many little snow balls off the fur on his legs!! But, there was no way he'd stay home whenever I'd set out! He was a WONDERFUL friend. I still miss him.
