Nice pic. This house was a mining captains' home built in 1887. It was lived in by one family until the early 1910's when it was sold by the mining company. I bought it in 1992 and am still trying to decide what to do with it. It's a wonderfully original home with a beautiful fireplace, hardwood floors and original woodworl...

My family moved to this house in 1967 - there were 6 kids and our parents so it didn't take long to fill up the 4 bedrooms. There are 2 stairways in the house - you can go up from the front door and come down into the kitchen - which we thought was pretty cool! It has 2 sets of french doors in the living room and also a set in the master bedroom. The fireplace was plugged when we lived there so we had a gas log in it.

I lived there until I got married in 1975 and my parents and brothers moved to Ishpeming in 1976. Lots of memories!

Have to agree with mmhodges (my sister), this house has LOTS of memories, all good of course. I remember well the day we moved from our smaller home behind St. Cecilia's school. Here I had my own bedroom, quite a thrill! This home would make a nice bed and breakfast. What a kick it would be to come "home" for the weekend!

Great memories! I grew up in the house right next to it. Thought the French doors were a something else when I was a kid. Still do.

In case you ever doubted it, you P's were great kids to grow up with, your parents marvelously good people. I remember a lot of softball games in the field below that house--a dozen kids and about half that many baseball gloves. I didn't pick up a glove 'til 6 years later, but I credit those games with my success-- I had a head start! Happy Holidays and blessings to your families.
